Buckt – Activity subscription box in June

We had an amazing and adventurous time reviewing our Buckt activity box in the month of May.  So I had high hopes for June’s activities!  And I really wasn’t disappointed.  I am really challenging myself at the moment and am enjoying trying new things and visiting places I may have not visited before.  So I was excited to see what June had to offer.  As mentioned in my last post, Buckt is an activity subscription box sent to your door each month.  For the price of £12.50 or £25 for a duo box, you get 5 activities to complete within 6 weeks.  Perfect for parents who need a little sparkle to add to their date nights. Sounds good?  Read on.

Inflatable Zone – 60 minute session

Now this looked like fun!  We actually visited here with the children and paid the extra for them.  I knew they would love it…and actually we all did!  This place is home to a huge inflatable obstacle course and includes so much more.  We got to try out the climbing tower, battle duel (I failed miserably!) bungee run, vertical drop slide and giant ball jump (think total wipeout!)  There was so much to do.  What made this place great was that it appealed to both adults and the kids.  And we could all experience it together. Whist there was a toddler zone which was suitable for under 4’s, Baby K and W could also enter the main zone too.  So we could all have fun together! We had a great time and for an extra few quid, made this a great morning out spent as a family!

Runway Train: A Moving Fashion Show – Dream Street Models

I was so intrigued about this activity and was really looking forward to what it had to offer.  This was Dream Street Models third annual premier show and took place on a moving Steam engine train!  The show took place on a very hot June evening.  It was great fun boarding a steam engine train but the train and the heat unfortunately didn’t mix.  That’s not to say the models didn’t put in 100% effort.  The fashion show consisted of adult wear and children’s wear. I felt so proud of some of the children as they did so well – much braver that I am at 32!

Game of Bingo

Now who doesn’t love a bit of Bingo!  I hadn’t been in years, and I mean years so I was really ready to have a laugh and have some fun and hopefully win some cash!!! We not only got two tickets but four, including a meal and a drink each – what an offer!  I had so much fun doing this activity with Buckt.  It was great to have a different date (normally it involves going out for a meal) and even better we got to share it with friends too!  Did I win?  Of course I didn’t!  But it was fun trying and I’ve booked to go with the girls again in a few weeks!

Butterfly Farm, Stratford Upon Avon

This was another activity offered by Buckt that we went along to with the kids in tow.  Stratford-upon-Avon is such a beautiful town and we often visit, especially in the summer month.  The last time we went to the Butterfly Farm B was a baby and he is now 8!  I knew they would be intrigued and I wanted them to experience this too. So we visited on Father’s Day. Located near the large carpark and play area, the Butterfly Farm really is something to experience.

As soon as you enter, you are in what they call the ‘Flight Zone’.  This is home to over 250 different species of tropical butterfly from 20 countries. In total, there are over 1,500 free flying individual butterflies. They are just beautiful and they are certainly not afraid to land on you.  At first, the kids were a little nervous.  But when they realised just how timid and tame the butterflies were, they were a lot more relaxed.  There is also a Discovery Zone and a Minibeast Metropolis to explore.  We had so much fun and was a great couple of hours out.

Birmingham International Dance Festival

This month, Buckt had partnered with the Birmingham International Dance Festival.  This was the sixth visit to our city and wasn’t it going to offer us a treat.  There was dance in theatres, streets and squares.  There was morning raves (I know right!), virtual reality experiences (a huge hit for B) and loads more.  The city was buzzing from such events popping up around the city and it really was a treat for all ages.

Final say on June’s Buckt Box

And there you have it!  Another fun and exhilarating month we’ve had.  We’ve bounced (and pulled a few muscles in the process), boarded a steam engine train, got close to nature, discovered a new hobby of bingo and witnessed some fantastic dance acts!  What a selection of activities Buck has offered us, and we even managed to include the kids too!

Still intrigued?  Then check out their website for more details on how you can experience a month full of activities.  Use the code WILLOWTREE for 50% off your first box!
