20 free activities to do at home with the kids

So, whilst there is only a matter of a week or two before the summer holidays are over, I am sure many of us have exceeded all the local activities on offer in our local area.  Days out can be expensive (and I am sure our purses feel lighter!), you’ve seen every film at the cinema and you’ve even visited Macdonald’s more times that you can count!

I sometimes struggle to think of free activities to do at home so I decided to compile a list and share it over on The Willow Tree.  Hopefully we can all make use of some of the fun things to do on here during our last few days of the summer!

Having a movie night at home for free activities to do with kids at home

free things to do at home with the kids - build you own burgers

several colouring pencils to use to make a poster when the kids are bored at home

A geocache box hidden in shrubbery - a few activity to do with the kids

Anymore free activities to add to the list?!

A great list list! Will definitely be sharing. I have some similar craft activities to extend summer into autumn and use up some of the excess of sea shells.

  2. Great ideas! We had a movie night last night and it was bliss being in bed by half 7 with a film and a cuppa!!

Sometimes we forget about the free things to do because we get so caught up in taking kids for days out in the summer. I love these ideas.

Ooh some really great ideas here! I’ve never been geocaching before – it looks like fun xx

This is a brilliant list. And there are lots of ideas on here that I haven’t thought of. I really should set toys up in my children’s bedrooms more. Promoting some quiet playtime would be good. And I LOVE the idea of hide the object. I can see that keeping my kids occupied for hours. Hugs Lucy xxxx
