Jumping at Red Kangaroo Review

Trampoline parks are the craze. All the children want to visit one, have a birthday party at one or learn new skills watching others.  I have to say, it is a great way to get the kids fit (as well as FootieBugs Holiday camp which we have also reviewed and you can read here!) Red Kangaroo Coventry opened it’s doors in March 2018 and I have been lucky enough to participate in not only their photo shoot but also to review a jump session as a family.

Although we visited Red Kangaroo in Coventry, you will also find them situated in Reading and Nottingham!

Red Kangaroo – Coventry

We arrived on a Saturday morning and was booked on to the 10am session.  As with all trampoline parks, we were taken to watch a safety briefing prior to entering the jump area.  This was great as it showed us what we can and cannot do during our session and just gives us peace of mind knowing that the staff are on hand to help if needed.  The video was short but to the point and the kids were super eager to get inside to check out what was in store!

Upon entering the jump hall, the kids were off before I could get our items into the provided lockers (which are free and large enough for all our gubbins.)  Although there is different sessions for different age ranges, we were booked onto the Kanga Family session, which meant both B and W could jump at the same time and was suited from aged 2 years all the way up to 12 years old.  It did mean that Baby K couldn’t, however there is a HUGE soft play area that suited him down to a tee.  There is also a cafe and plentiful seating area with a viewing platform for the jump zone.

Sessions

If you are just visiting with toddlers, then there is a Kangaroo Tots session.  This is for children aged between 1 and 5 years old.  There is also Kanga Bounce for children aged 4+.   There is a Kanga calm session for children who have autism, anxiety or any sensory needs.  And finally there is a session called Kanga Fitness.  This is a fun and fabulous fitness class especially for adults over 16!

Some of the bounce area at Red Kangaroo

The trampoline area at Red Kangaroo Coventry literally features wall to wall trampolines.   This is perfect for those that just want to bounce and practice their jumping skills.  My kids were more than happy to do this but were drawn to the other activities on offer.  B took part in a total wipeout game which he loved and W tried out the super spiral slide!

There are double cardio reaction walls where you have to jump and hit the right button at the right time.  There is also an epic gladiator beam and two slam dunk arenas.  The football goal was a huge hit for B and spent most of his time in here scoring goals and acting as a bouncing goalie!  We also loved the dodge ball area which has trampolines up the sides of the walls!  For those that are a little adventurous there is even a ninja warrior course!

Kanga Soft Play

The soft play area in split into two areas.  There is a smaller area for under 2’s which I felt was perfect for pre crawlers and crawlers.  There was mini ball pits, soft play and activities to compete on the walls.  Then there was the larger area suitable for the bigger children.  There was so much to do, Baby K was having a fabulous time!  There is a giant 4 lane slide, rope bridge skywalk and much more!

You can add a 2 hour kanga soft play session to any booking for only £3.  However the soft play is included for the time that you bounce.

Our verdict

We honestly had a wicked time here at Red Kangaroo Coventry.  It was perfect for the age of all three of my children which is a godsend as it can be difficult to please all three when out and about!  I found the staff to be really approachable and very observant of the area they were overseeing.  We really loved the addition of the soft play as it just added an extra bit of fun to our time here.  The cafe offered tasty coffee and there was plentiful free lockers.

I found this park to really offer an array of activities suitable for all ages and levels of ability.  I really loved the super slide as this is the first of its kind I’ve seen at a trampoline park.  We also loved the goalie area as it was really unique and we could all take part as a family.

Our hour went super quick as we were having so much fun but I really think it is a great idea to stick around and pay the extra £3 (weekends) or 3.95 (0-2 years) and £4.95  (3 – 8 years) on weekdays and take advantage of the soft play.
