Gelli Baff and Slime Baff Fun in the Bath!

I think every parent out there knows the obsession with slime, and anything gooey and messy is on the forefront of every child’s mind.  So when Zimpli Kids got in touch asking to see whether my kids wanted to review their Gelli Baff and Slime Baff, how could I say no!  Zimpli Kids kindly send Mr B and Miss W each a box of Gelli Baff, Slime Baff and as it’s Christmas and we all wish for snow, a SnoBall Play Pack. The kids’ response……

SIKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! (Yes even four year old Miss W now uses this phrase!)

So if your kids are anything like mine, then you may want to read on to find out more about these slimy products AND enter my Prize Draw to win a Gelli Baff and Slime Baff Bundle!

Gelli Baff and Slime Baff – what is it?

Both Gelli Baff and Slime Baff are the perfect products to turn your children’s bath time into FUN TIME!!!   Some children adore bath time and others, not so much.  If your child is the latter, I am sure a mention of slime in their bath,  may just change their mind.  In a nutshell, Gelli Baff and Slime bath are packs of powder that you mix in with the bath water to turn it into either Gelli Goo, or Gooey Slime.  Sounds fun huh?!  To a slime mad four year old and a crazy excitable 8 year old then it sure does!

Gelli Baff

As with both products, you simply add the solution into the water in the bath and wait around 5-10 minutes for the liquid to slowly turn into Gelli.

The bath water has now turned into Gelli baff pink in colour

It’s amazing how the water turns quite quickly into this quirky and unusual gel, but the kids loved it and got involved super excited!  Both were pretty surprised such a thing could happy and was amazed that their bath was now basically a huge tub of Gelli to play with. Both really enjoyed messing around with the texture of the Gelli baff, squishing and squeezing the gel and making their own imaginative play up. My concern was how was we going to get rid of the gel once the kids were done.  But actually this was pretty easy too.  Simply add more water and sprinkle the pack of sodium chloride that is provided, into the tub before draining away (I suggest the kids get out before this point!) and voila!

Slime Baff

Miss W loves Slime, so I knew this would be her favourite.  As with the Gelli Baff, Slime Baff works in the same way.  Simply fill your bath tub up with water and add the slime solution into the bath and wait around 5-10 minutes (all instructions are provided!)  Now just a word of warning around the slime, it can make your bath super slippery.  So if you have a bath mat, make sure you use it!

The kids had a ball playing with the slime but to be honest, I think I added too much water so it wasn’t as slimy as they wanted!  So I suggest to add about 5 cm’s worth of water to get the best effect!   To drain, simply add more water to the slime to dilute, then drain away!

Snowball Play Pack

Finally, Zimpli kids also sent out Snoball play.  Again, this product is really simple to use.  Simply add you solution to a bowl of water and watch your contents turn into snow.  This product is great all year round, and is a great way for the kids to play with snow even if it actually isn’t snowing!  If your kids want a snow battle, then I suggest you do this outdoors as no one wants snow in their house – real or not!  The consistency of the snow was very similar to the gelli baff, however as there was no colour to it, it really did look like the real deal!

Our verdict

We had lots of fun with our Gelli Baff and Slime Baff products and with out Snoball Play pack.  It’s a great way to get the kids involved in sensory play and talk about the different textures.  What I have to say about these products that make then a WIN WIN for me is that they are 100% safe on your child’s skin.  Obviously, all skin types are different so if you do have concerns, I would suggest you do a little skin test first.  The products are made in the UK and state that they are stain free and environmentally friendly, meaning that it is totally safe to drain away.  The first box of Gelli Baff was sold in the UK in 2007 and have used the same formulation selling over 20 million units across this time period.  To put you at ease, their website indicates that they have multiple up to date testing certification to demonstrate the safety of their whole range, which is great to hear.
