5 quick bedroom makeovers for kids

Let’s face it. There always seems to be a room in the house that needs a makeover.  Whether it’s the kitchen that needs a new look, the sofa is a little tired looking, or one of the children’s bedrooms needs a makeover, the house is a work in progress.  Our latest bedroom to spruce up was for Baby K, being our youngest.  Have a read if you need some inspo on cloud designs!

Having three children means four bedrooms to look after, and sometimes this feels hard work!  Having to completely redecorate can be a task and a half and with the children changing their minds on what their favourite character, TV or game means it’s a lot to keep up with decoration wise.  However, there are easier ways in which to give your children’s rooms a spruce! Consider my 5 bedroom makeovers for kids if your thinking of having a change!

5 quick bedroom makeovers for kids

1.Instead of redecorating their whole room, consider a wall mural.  I am loving how this can transform a whole room.  There are so many options out there but with the recent release of Jurassic World, B is really into his dinosaurs and the options from Wallsource look fantastic.  There are designs for the older children, or they offer fun character wall art for a much younger child.  They look so realistic and really impressive. What’s great about these is that they are easy to apply, and easy changeable.  We all know how children can change their mind after a short while.  They look so effective that you really do not need to decorate the whole room either, just one wall to make it really stand out.  They also have some pretty impressive dinosaur wallpaper!

2. Children’s bedroom carpets can get filthy what with muddy football boots or spilt slime or glitter, it can get messy.  Consider changing your children’s flooring from carpet to wooden floor or laminate. Too warm the room up, add a large rug to soften the floor up.  Land Of Rugs do some great simple designs and range from modern, traditional, designer and cheap rugs.  Of course, they also offer children’s designs too.

3. Does your child need a new bed?  They may have grown out of their toddler bed (W has!) and they may need some more space.  There is a HUGE variety of beds out there for children.  Cabin beds, bunk beds, under bed storage, over bed storage – the list goes on.  At the moment, I am absolutely loving the simplicity of the single beds offered by Mini Maison.  I love the Tipi design, which I think would love amazing with fairy lights or bunting as an accessory.  The material is made from beech and I just love it!

4. Use vertical space.  Using the space high up means you can create more space for accessible shelving below.  Use this space to display school work, art work, trophies or certificates.  If you are creative, buy some frames from pound land.  Take out the glass and paint the frames in line with your child’s theming.  Then, display their art work inside the frames.  This can look so affective!

5. Does your children have a lot of stuff? Of course they do!  Consider a storage or toy box.  These not only look great but they also act as a seat when closed.  Children’s rooms get very messy, so it is a great way to hide the toys away, but it is still easily accessible for the kids to pull it all out again!!  ou could even use an old wooden box and paint it yourself – get the kids involved!
