We last visited Disneyland Paris when the kids were aged 8, 4 and 18 months back in October 2018 for Halloween. As Baby K was 18 months at this time, I thought I would share with you guys the best rides for toddlers in Disneyland Paris and what rides he enjoyed the most being the youngest! If Disney isn’t quite your thing, how about visiting Paris with a toddler?
First things first, Disneyland Paris is THE PLACE for families, and so there really isn’t many rides that the little ones can’t ride. As Baby K is the youngest, he is the most restricted out of our three. Mr B is now 8 years old and can ride all the rides. Miss W is of average height for her age and there is a few, such as Hyper Space Mountain, that she isn’t tall enough for yet. Baby K is around 83 cm’s tall, which meant he could ride a few extra rides than his first visit when he was only 7 months old.
If your little one loves cars, then this is the ride for them! This ride does have a height restriction, so your toddler does need to be at least 81 CM’s (so no babes in arms). You can ride 1 adult and up to two children within a car. Your toddler can sit next to you in the car whilst you drive along a track with a few twists and turns along the way. This ride is great for a toddler as it’s tame, with no spinning and it isn’t fast at all – just a lot of fun!
This is a ride for all the family!! Up to three in a space cruiser, you move around a track, fighting against Evil Emperor Zurg taking on the role of a junior space ranger! Blast those enemy’s and total up your score at the end to see who’s won! Baby K loved it one. Although he didn’t quite know what to do with his blaster, he loved looking at all the animatronics and using the spin stick to spin our space cruiser!
This is my 8 year old son’s favorite ride in the whole of Disneyland Paris. However, there is no height restrictions on this rocket ride, so you can ride with your toddlers. We didn’t take Baby K on this ride as I felt it was a little to high and the rockets slightly dip, so it does feel like your sitting awkwardly inside the rocket. As with Dumbo, you can control how high you ride by controlling it within your own rocket.
The older two, enjoyed Orbitron
One of our favourites for us all and what I consider to be one of the best rides for Toddlers in Disneyland Paris! This is a boat ride around the lands of the world, featuring the children of the world too! The kids love the song, and it does get stuck in your head quite easily so be warned! The queue for this ride tends to be short too, so you can guarantee you won’t be waiting too long – the most we’ve waited is 20 minutes! Note: This is an indoor ride, so if it is raining, this is a good one to ride!
‘It’s a Small World’ one of the best rides for toddlers in Disneyland Paris
This is my favourite ride (aside from Big Thunder!) I remember riding this in WDW when I was about 4 years old, and despite feeling a little petrified then, I absolutely love it now! This ride feels like you are literally flying in a boat over London and Neverland. It really is exciting, fun and a great ride for toddlers. You can fit three in a row, and there are two rows per boat. ‘You can fly, You can fly, You can flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!’
If your toddler doesn’t mind a spinning ride, then they will enjoy Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups. You can spin your own cup by using the wheel in the centre of the cup. This is handy if you wish to spin faster, or not at all. All our kids enjoy this ride and it is a lovely one to ride all together, fitting 2 adults and 3 children per cup. Oh, and don’t forget to look up at the lanterns, especially at night!
Us five on the Mad Hatter Tea Cups in Disneyland Paris
Board a wooden cart and take the journey through the story of Pinocchio. Again, you can ride 3 per row so all 5 of us had our own wooden cart. This ride is rather quick, but it is a nice one for the toddlers to experience and enjoy – especially if they enjoy the film!
Another lovely ride for all the family and a fun ride for toddlers if they enjoy something a little different than going along a track in a car or boat! Board your own Dumbo the Elephant and take a journey flying in the sky! During this aerial adventure, you can control how high you fly with a handle that you can either move up or town inside your Dumbo – similar to Orbitron. This is a another fun ride for toddlers and great to see the sights of Fantasy Land in Disneyland Paris.
This is a firm favourite with most toddlers I think! Climb aboard your very own horse and take the merry go round fairytale ride situated in the heart of Fantasy Land, Disneyland Park. The ride is simple yet fun for the little ones and to be extra safe, you can stand next to your little one’s horse and hold on to them for extra support!
A simple boat ride, this will take you and your little ones on a journey through the enchanting realm of Disney’s Story Book Land. You’ll see popular and rememberable landmarks from many of Disney’s classic movies – it really is a charming little ride. See the likes of Rapunzel’s High Tower, The Cave of Wonder from Aladdin and Beast’s Castle from Beauty and the Beast. As these boats hold up to 15 people, the queue time for this is always short.
This little Circus Train takes you around the Le Pays des Contes de Fees boat ride and loops twice around it’s track. A tame train, so perfect for toddlers, it is a gentle ride for all the family to enjoy over at Disneyland Park. From the movie Dumbo, you can either ride in an extravagant sleigh or a festive animal’s cage (the back row sits backwards for an extra mini thrill!) Don’t forget to keep your eye out for the famous landmarks from Disney’s classic films!
Ok, so this isn’t quite ride but more of an experience and a play ground. The is perfect if your toddler want’s to still have fun but take a break from the rides. There is two areas to play within the playground, and the right side is perfect for little ones with a climbing frame and a slide.
This is a dark ride, so may scare little ones. But Baby K has loved this ride, both at 7 months and 18 months. Encounter some pirates along your boat journey and take a sneak peek of Captain Jack Sparrow. There are a couple of small drops on this ride, but if your little one loves Pirates and isn’t afraid to get wet, take them aboard!
Another playground located in Frontier Land, this is another great way for your toddlers to have fun and stretch their legs. Take one of the many slides, climb the mini climbing frames or simply watch the Molly Brown sail by or catch Thunder Mountain on its tracks!
Pocahontas Village is another great ride for toddlers in Disneyland Paris
Take a ride around Thunder Mountain Railroad and sail across the lake, taking in the sights as you go along. This is a lovely ride for all the family and especially for your toddlers who may love boats! If you ask the Cast Member who is driving the boat to have a go at driving, you may just get invited into the boat’s cabin!

You can ride this with your little ones if you wish (we have!) but it is a little scary. It has since had a huge refurb and currently isn’t open yet – due anytime this spring ’19!
