I love supporting local business’s. And so when Sarah, the founder behind Blossom Keepsakes approached me at a local baby and toddler group, I was super excited to work with her! If you know me well, you will know that I love sentimental items. Photo’s, prints, baby keepsakes – it all works for me! I cherish all the memories I’ve had created over the years as I think it’s so important to keep these. I am the type of Mama who struggles to throw the random paintings that come home in the kid’s school bags (I know don’t judge!)
Our children grow up way to fast (although some days drag right?!) When all three children were born I knew I wanted to get their hand and footprints imprinted. They all had it done at 8 weeks old. However, I hadn’t yet had anything captured of all three of them together. This is where Blossom Keepsakes came in and solved that problem for me!
Blossom Keepsakes is a local small business ran by Sarah. Sarah is a Mum of two children aged 5 and 2 years old. After being a costume supervisor for TV shows for many years, Sarah decided to take the big step and leave her job to build her own creative business that worked around her family.
Sarah say’s “Blossom Keepsakes was established in April 2018. Spring is my favourite time of year and blossom is such a beautiful flower that brings energy and happiness to many people.I was gazing out of the window trying to think of a name and quickly realised that the beautiful blossom would suit the keepsake business well.”
Sarah knows all to well how important it is to capture those special moments when babies and children are so young. They grow so quickly and those precious fingers and toes don’t stay tiny for long. From this, Sarah created her business to offer this to proud parents across Birmingham. With love and care, Sarah’s Blossom Keepsakes studio is based in South Birmingham where she will work on creating your beautiful handmade keepsakes. Whether you want an imprint of your child’s hands, feed or a 3D cast. Not only this, but Blossom Keepsakes is a mobile business and will visit you in your own home which I thought was just wonderful. With three children, I can find it hard getting out and about and really appreciated this part of her business.
Sarah arrived at my home with a friendly smile and full of excitement. I was also super excited as I just love personalised and sentimental items especially of my children. Sarah and I decided to work in the kitchen as this gave us more room. She could also work from different angles when getting my children’s hand prints onto the clay. Sarah worked efficiently, smoothly and helped me (A LOT!) when Baby K wasn’t sure about what was going on!
Kindly, Sarah even gave B and W some clay to play with whilst she packed her items away! For the imprints, I was given a form to complete, detailing what I actually wanted. Sarah had also brought some samples with her which was great and I could see what colours worked on the chosen wall I wanted to hang the prints.
Sarah’s attention to detail was second to none and took her time with all my children. She even decided to re take an imprint of Baby K’s hand as she wasn’t happy with how it presented on the clay.
After a few weeks, our creations were ready and I was so excited to see how they turned out! And I was so impressed! They are nothing like I’ve seen before with the black and silver effect and I just love how they all look together in my kitchen.
The imprints are so clear and I love how I have all three of their handprints together showcased in my home. I didn’t realise how big B’s hand’s are! For a singular imprint, Blossom Keepsakes offer this for £35 minimum 2 children per order.
At Blossom Keepsakes, Sarah can also offer your prints in a bespoke luxury soft wood frame, which really finishes off the look.
If you don’t have children or fancy something a little unique, Blossom Keepsakes not only take babies and young children’s impressions, but can create family casts too and even pet paws! Or gift vouchers are available for those special occasions such as newborn, 1st birthday, 1st Christmas, christenings and baby showers. Her products are such a gorgeous way of holding a moment in time forever.
Sarah also visit’s nurseries which I think is such a fantastic idea. We, as parents, love to hold on to such precious memories and having something permanent like an imprint or a cast from nursery is a perfect keepsake. Sarah is so approvable and flexible with what she offers so you must get in touch to discuss your needs further!
