New year new clothes?! If you’ve started the year on a bit of a low and need a pick me up, adding a little something to your wardrobe may just make you smile. Im all for making ourselves feel better with a little pick me up. That doesn’t mean you have to go and break your bank balance with many purchases. But simply a new top or party dress can really brighten up my mood.
Christmas and New Year has been and gone, and it was the perfect excuse to get dressed up. I had a few nights out planned leading up to Christmas and Femme Luxe Finery managed to help me out with adding a few items to my wardrobe.
This time, I wanted something that I could add to current items that could make up a complete outfit. I’ve worn bodysuits a few times but always used to shy away from them. However, with the amount of high waited jeans, leggings and skirts that are available (and I own a few high waited items) I thought I would give it a go and showcase several on offer
The first item I chose from their bodysuits collection was this red sparkly organza puff sleeve bodysuit, priced at £12.99( sale price) The red sparkly fabric immediately stood out for me, especially as it also included red sparkly cuffs too. The organza puff sleeves are also very much on trend at the moment. I don’t normally follow trends however I really love this look.
I teamed up this sparkly bodysuit with a high waited black knee length skirt, almost making the outfit look like a dress. I had many comments about the top and it fitted me well. I chose a size 10, and I had no problems with the sizing.
The second bodysuit from Femme Luxe was this black one sleeved ruffled bodysuit. I really loved the ruffle detail across the front and I thought being a simple design, would be easy to team up with several other clothing items.
I decided to wear this with a navy sequin high wasted skirt which looked really lovely for a night out. The bodysuit was again brought in a size 10, but I did find that it didn’t fit as well, in the respect that it wasn’t long enough in the body. By no means am I tall (I am 5ft 4), but I found it difficult to do the poppers up and actually ended up not doing them up at all! I would consider sizing up for this one.
Thirdly, I chose this black organza short sleeved puff bodysuit at £11.99 (sale price). Again, I chose the puff sleeve design and I love the look and thought it would be a great look with high waisted jeans, both for a causal and dressed up look. Unfortunately this bodysuit it only avaaible up to size 12, which is really limiting for so many women, considering the average size woman is a 16. It would be great for Femme Luxe to consider offering a bigger range of sizes to suit all women’s shapes.
And finally, the last bodysuit I chose was the one sleeved ruffle bodysuit but this time in white. Again, priced at £11.99. I loved the option of the two colours and thought that whilst they are the same bodysuit, having a chose of colours would really open up the choice of outfit. I also thought it was a really diverse colour, perfect for both winter and the summer months that are ahead, perfect with jeans.
Again, it was a little short in the body, so I would think about sizing up.
Overall, I am impressed with my new femme luxe haul and think that they have a huge range of bodysuits on offer. It is a shame that they don’t offer a bigger range of sizes, and I hope that this is something that they consider in the future.
