August seems like a distant memory and we are now in the heart of September. That said, we had another fun month of reviewing our Buckt box, as we did in June (see my June box review) If you are a regular reader, you’ll properly now know what Buckt is all about. If not, Buckt is an activity subscription box for adults that live in and around Birmingham. Each month, you’ll get sent tickets or an invitation to 5 activities. You can either purchase a solo or duo box.
Read on to see what we got up to!
Located in Stourbridge, this is a Go Kart Centre that’s home to a 300m race track! With 200cc British made karts and one of the largest flyovers the UK has to offer, this was a real fun experience! Now I am no real adrenaline junkie, although you will see from my recent posts that I am learning to face some fears! But this was a fun and exhilarating experience that was super exciting – oh and competitive! My husband Matt thought he was a pro of course!
For this activity, I decided to take my 8-year-old son B. I knew that he would love Laser Tag and I wasn’t wrong! This activity is located in Acocks Green, Birmingham and is a game of Tag in the dark! This place was around when I was young and therefore is a classic activity that is refreshing to see it still being a highlight for the young and old today! We were provided two 20 minute games where we played against each other, shooting our infrared beams to score more points! It was a great evening spending time together and it was equally enjoyed by both of us!
This is an attraction that is completely new to me and something I never considered to visit before. Located in the heart of Birmingham’s’ Jewellery Quarter, the museum is built around perfectly a preserved jewellery workshop. Offering a unique glimpse of working life in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter, the museum is a remarkable offering of Birmingham’s renowned jewellery and metalworking heritage. This museum offers a lively guided tour and plenty of demonstrations to really give you an insight into the work behind creating jewellery. It was really interesting and I particularly enjoyed the two self-led galleries.
Located in Redditch, this is golf like you’ve never seen it before. Instead of a golf ball, you have a disc. The aim of the game is to score by getting the disc into a special target. To win, it is just like golf in that you need to get the frisbee into the special target in as fewest throws as possible. This is a perfect date with a difference and we even got the kids involved which they loved. If the sun is shining, this is a lovely day out!
This is a lovely little place that is free to attend but one that was introduced to me via my Buckt subscription box. Located in Sutton park, the Donkey Sanctuary has been offering donkey assisted therapy to children and adults with cognitive, emotional and physical needs for over 40 years. This is amazing that this is on offer to those that need and benefit from it! What is even special is that the donkeys that live in the sanctuary are all rescued and are so very much looked after here. It is a lovely place to visit and see the Donkey’s, especially as you can make a real day of it as Sutton Park is huge! You can get up close and stroke the donkeys and even adopt one to help continue the amazing work of the organisation.
So as you can read, another great month of activities provided by Buckt. It honestly is a great way to not only have a date day/night with a difference. But to also find out about places to visit and attractions in and around Birmingham you may not have heard about before.

I’ve never heard of anything like this before – especially for a local area! I assume the price of the box is a lot less than what the tickets would cost to the events. It’s great if you like to try different things!

This is a lovely day, both to find out more local places and to encourage you to get out and about. I can definitely get a bit lazy and often go to the same places. Having more places to visit, particularly as days get cold would be great for us as a family.
