Buckt – Activity subscription box in May

Who doesn’t love trying new things and going out of your comfort zone?  Who doesn’t love having fun with friends or your partner? Now you can do all this with a monthly subscription box with Buckt, full of activities you can try!

What is Buckt?

Fed up of doing the same thing week in week out?  Now is time to make change!  Buckt is the UK’s first and only ticket and activity subscription box available in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.  Each month, you’ll receive 5 activities to complete in your region, delivered to your door for just £12.50 per person.  You can either purchase a solo box (for one person) or a du0 (for two people).  You have 6 weeks to complete these activities but there is flexibility on this. How exciting does this sound?!  When Dan Bridgewater, the founder of Buckt, contacted me and asked for my involvement, I knew I could not turn this opportunity down!

Our month with Buckt

As bust parents who work hard, I thought that this would be perfect for Matt and I.  We love to go out and try new restaurants but as nights out are a rarity, we were excited to mix things up a bit.  We wanted to try new things, and were super keen to get our first Buckt box delivered to see what activities we had in store!  Our box arrived the next working day and within the box is a leaflet, listing all the activities for this month.  On each page, there is instructions as to how to book your activities. It’s super easy and simple and you can contact the team at any time if needed.

RAGE ROOM

This was first activity we tried from our Buckt box and one I was a little apprehensive but excited about.  Rage room is an experience where you are let loose in a room with glass bottles and baseball bats.  You have a selection of items to smash and is basically an activity to let some of that pent-up anger out!  This activity is based in Birmingham, and was really easy to find with plenty of parking on side streets.  We really enjoyed this activity and is something we’ve never done before.  My husband really enjoyed it and got the most out of the experience.  Sometimes, as parents we can get stressed and need a release!  This is the perfect activity to do!  We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed experiencing this together.

MEDITATION CLASS AT KADAMPA CENTRE

This was something I was really looking forward too.  As my mind always feels on the go, I really wanted to experience a session of meditation and to support my journey in learning to relax my mind. Kadampa Meditation Centre Birmingham is a public registered charity which operates to help people from all walks of life to find inner peace. It is situated in the centre of Birmingham near the MailBox.

We were welcomed into the centre and joined the others in a mediation room where we had a choice to sit on chairs or mats.  The class was led by the lovely Gen Kelsang Leksang who was not only relaxing and approachable, but also humorous and modern in her way of thinking.  Whilst I enjoyed this experience and I am so glad I did it, I found it really hard to switch off.  I think over time, this is something to be learned.  But it was an eye-opening experience and we got to meet some great people!

MOCKINGBIRD CINEMA TICKETS

Situated within Birmingham’s iconic Custard Factory, The Mockingbird Cinema and Kitchen offers a unique cinematic experience.  It is a fully independent cinema with a relaxed environment and one we’d not visited before.  I was so happy Buckt had offered this in their May subscription box as there was a few films we wanted to see.  I am one to try new places and I was super keen to check this cinema out.  We received two tickets to see a film of our choice.  All we had to do was message Buckt some dates of our availability and they booked our viewing!  We then received our ticket confirmation via Watsapp.  Easy!

CLUB INDIVIDUAL – MEAL AT BANK RESTAURANT BRINDLEY PLACE

As I’ve said before, I love eating out and trying new restaurants.  We haven’t visit Bank in about 10 years and was therefore really excited to visit here again.  This restaurant is one offered if you sign up to the club individual reward scheme.  If you sign up, they offer Buckt users £20 per card.   So therefore, for a duo box, a total of £40 to spend!  We were happy!

We chose to visit prior to a theatre booking we had on a Sunday evening.  The restaurant was bustling with people (in a good way!) and was the perfect evening to have views of the canal. Bank Birmingham is chic and sophisticated, emanating the character of a lively continental brasserie.  Weren’t we were in for a treat!

After much deliberation over the enticing menu, we chose to go with a sharing platter of asian bites which did not disappoint.  We did not leave hungry and despite a little bit of slow service to begin with, we left very happy customers!

MUSIC LESSON’s @ BIRMINGHAM MUSIC SCHOOL

When I was younger I played the flute, but how I wished I learned to play the piano!  This last activity was a choice of having guitar lessons with Gutair Lessons Birmingham or a lesson of our choice with Birmingham Music school – including vocals!  Both provide fully accredited course all taught by professionally trained Yamaha teachers in guitar, piano, drums and vocals.  What a treat and I just loved trying this opportunity  as I would never have considered having a piano lesson on my to-do list!

Wow – what a month!  We really have done some fun activities and you can to!  Whats even better is that Buckt is offering all my readers 50% off a duo box with the code

WILLOWTREE

That means, 5 activities for 2 people all for only £12.50!!  I am sure you can imagine, what great value this is!

We’ve had a ball this month and have really enjoyed experiencing new things as a couple whilst out on date night’s! Stick around to see what we’ve been up to in June!
