Buckt – Activity Subscription box in November

Another month, another Buckt box.  It has now been 6 months since I began receiving Birmingham’s only activity subscription box and we have achieved so much in this time frame.  (If you are unsure of what Buckt is, head over to my recent blog posts or visit Buckt!)

We’ve enjoyed new adventures such as The Butterfly Farm, Skytrail and meditation classes over the past few months.  And this month yet again, didn’t disappoint with its range of activities on offer.  Having a duo box is fantastic for couples who fancy a change to their date nights/days out.  And it is also a great way of seeing the sights and visiting new places in the local area.  Buckt are now launching in Greater Manchester, so spread the world!

Heres what we got up to this month…

An Ice Hockey Match

This month, Buckt were offering its subscribers a choice of three ice hockey matches in Coventry to watch Coventry Blaze.  Coventry Blaze are four time elite Ice hockey League Champions so I knew this was going to be a great event to go to.  I have seen a fair few football and even baseball matches in my life, but never ice hockey, so this was a new experience for us.  And it sure was!  Imagine an electrifying atmosphere, legal fights and an overall fun time.  I was shocked at how the teams fight but it really is the thing to do and it really bought some intensity to the match.  Was fantastic and so much fun!

The Jungle Hut

The Jungle Hut is based at Earlswood  Lakes.  This is a great little visit especially if you have children to take along too. There really is all sorts going on here including handling of many exotic animals and even taking part in a few ‘I’m a Celebrity’ challenges!  The staff here are lovely too and you can tell are really interested in the animals they care for.  Species range from snakes, giant african snails, scorpions and my fave…spiders!!! (NOT!)

A choice of 19 Gigs – Kitchen Garden Cafe

The Kitchen Garden Cafe is a quirky intimate oasis in the heart of Kings Heath.  Often, this is the place to go if you like acoustic music.  They specialise in Folk, Roots and Americana so it is a real mix and great to hear new music you perhaps wouldn’t normally listen to.  The place is full of art work, and in the warmer months they even have a lovely little beer garden.  I love visiting new places and I had never been here before but will definitely return.  It was such a lovely individual place and the music was really unique and difference.  Lovely to go along and enjoy a nice drink after a busy day.

Bell Target Air Rifle Shooting

Located in Great Barr, this Rifle club is one of the leading Bell Target Air Rifle Shooting clubs in the country.  Unfortunately, we could not attend any of the dates on offer (three across 3 weeks) but the opportunity sounded fantastic.  The activity involved a full thorough safety briefing and all the equipment to make your experience the best one.  Does this sound right up your street?!

Board Game Night – Northfield Arts Forum

A love a good board game!  Held at the historic Black Horse pub, there was several evenings across November and December to attend this event.  Imagine a relaxed but fun atmosphere of people just enjoying a night, forgetting about their worries and having a good time.  Sometimes the simplest of things can be the most enjoyable and doesn’t cost the earth.
