Buckt – Activity Subscription Box in September

We had a lot of fun during the month of August visiting new places thanks to our Buckt activity subscription box.  And September’s activities did not disappoint.  I was really pleased to see a great variation across the activities and some new places I had yet to hear about based in the Midlands.  So without further ado, lets see what we got up to!

HADO PvP – Grange Live Gaming

We visited Grange Live Gaming to complete Rage Room in May’s Buckt box, which we loved.  So I was really excited to return back here to try something new and different.  HADO combines augmented reality and a live action game to create a unique and exhilarating team based sport.  HADO player vs player is the first of its kind to arrive in the UK so this was pretty unique!  The game involves firing energy balls at your opponents, raising shields to protect yourself and special powers to win a match.  I love video games so this was a real treat for me and a lot of fun!  It was so funny, energetic and full of competition!  A great way to spend an afternoon/evening doing something different.

Sky Trail Adventure – Planters

Ok, so I was slightly nervous doing this!  Located at Planters Garden Centre in Tamworth, The Sky Trail Adventure is the UK’s only sky trail activity based at a garden Centre.  The course is over two levels and includes ropes, bridges, swings and beams.  I took my 8 year old son with me as I knew that he would love to do this.  And he did…and so did I!  We got to spend a full 30 minutes on the trail and could navigate our way around the course as we pleased.  It really was a lot of fun and even though we both felt the top level was pretty high, we tackled it and was really proud of ourselves!  A big thumbs up from us!

Steelhouse Lane Lock Up – WMP

This was a 90 minute tour of the famous Steelhouse Lane Lock up situated in Birmingham’s City Centre.  I was so intrigued by this activity and found it so interesting.  It was a self guided tour of the prison however there were guides to talk about different areas and stories of the prison.  We got to go in the cells, talk about different equipment the police used over the years and had an in dept talk on the latest hangings in the city.  It was really interesting and there was even some fun stuff for the kids to do too!

Michael Jackson Tribute Act

Now this is right up my street.  I love Tribute nights and even more so – Michael Jackson!  Unfortunately we couldn’t go to this event due to work commitments as this was booked on a set evening.  However, I can share a little bit about the event.  It was located at Birmingham’s Bierkeller Bar located on Broad Street, where the night would have been filmed with the hit songs from the legend that was MJ.  I was gutted to have missed this as I bet it was a fab night!

Two Tai Chi Classes – Central Tai Chi

In September, Buckt offered the chance for their subscribers to take up two Tai Chi Classes located in several areas across the Midlands.  This was really handy as you could choose what class and what day suited you.  The class lastest 90 minutes, which I felt was a little too long.  However, it was great to experience a Tai Chi class as I had never done one before.  It felt full of energy despite it being a slow-paced class.  The class has so many benefits including ways to maintain health, healing injuries and even self-defence!

  1. Fab post! These activities look so fun, although I don’t think I’d be brave enough to do the sky trail. I would love to go to the Prison Lock up though, this sounds so interesting. And the Tai Chi classes sound good too xx
