In February 2020, we visited Disneyland Paris for the fourth time. For this trip we decided to take the Eurostar and stay onsite, at the Seqouia Lodge Hotel. This hotel is rated as a 3 key (star) hotel and is located onsite, a short walk away from Disney Village and the Disney parks. With a view of the lake, this hotel is themed around a mountain retreat, where you do literally feel like your in the Rocky Mountains in a lodge. Think dark wood, Bambi themed bedrooms and roaring fires.
In previous years we’ve visited:

This hotel has a ‘main house’ where you will find Reception, a bar and two restaurants, a children’s play corner and a shop. There are also several floors of bedrooms within the main house. There are standard bedrooms as well as a Golden Forest Rooms. Surrounding the grounds of Seqouia Lodge, you’ll find the Lodges. With the lodge area, you’ll find the hotels indoor and outdoor swimming complex. The swimming pool at Seqouia Lodge is fantastic, complete with a woodland theme, kids slide, waterfall and hot tub. Inside, you’ll find loungers, kids floats and arm bands.
There is also a lifeguard on duty. The hot tub is quite large too, so can fit quite a few people in at the same time. The changing rooms are complete with lockers, showers (with shower gel) and toilets, which were extremely clean. Towels are also provided prior to entering.
We couldn’t rate Sequoia Lodge’s pool enough and visited 2 times during our 4 night stay. The water was warm, and it was really relaxing to be swimming surrounded by huge sequoia and oak trees. The slide is also super fun – and super fast, thoroughly enjoyed by our our 2, 5 and 9 year old! (Note: parents can ride with little ones on their lap).
There is also a fitness centre at Disney’s Seqouia Lodge. This hotel gym is normally open 7am – 9.30am but please do check prior to visiting.
Within the main building is Seqouia Lodge’s own shop, Northwest Passage. We love this shop despite it not being the largest of shops. But it does have all the amenities you may need, such as Mickey ears, pins, snacks and drinks and some gifts. Also within the main building is a childrens play corner. This area is perfect for little ones to take some time out from the parks and either watch a Disney film or do some arts and crafts.
My younger two children aged 2 and 5 at the time, really enjoyed it. Supervision of your children is necessary, but sometimes their is a cast member within the area to offer help to your children when making any arts and crafts. It is a lovely addition to the hotel.
Sequoia lodge is home to a lovely large bar in the centre of the main building. Redwood Bar and Lounge is complete with huge sofas infront of a roaring log fire, which is the ultimate talking point. Despite the bar being fairly large, it really does have a cosy feel and I would 100% recommend grabbing a sofa to gain the full experience of feeling inside a lodge. The bar serves a variety of cocktails, wines and beers and also a selection of snacks.
The hotel has two restaurants; Hunters Grill and Beavers Grill. These are located on the ground floor of the hotel and are accessible via lift or stairs. On our first night of our stay, we ate in Hunters Grill, which is the restaurant that serves an evening buffet. I was dubious, as I have read several mixed reviews on trip advisor. However, I need not have worried. The food was delicious, with a large selection of meats and cheeses, starters, main meals and desserts, complete with raclette manned by a chef. There was a small children’s buffet serving chicken nuggets, fish goujons, sausages, chips and vegetables. The theming of this restaurant is of course, keeping in line with the rest of the hotels lodge theme.
Beavers Creek is the restaurant that serves breakfast. Breakfast at Seqouia Lodge is typical of what you would find in a hotel. There are meats, cheeses and a variety of breads. There are also a select few pastries, jams and hot breakfast times, including scrambled egg, bacon, sausage and beans. There is also a pancake station!
Sequoia Lodge is a hotel that is perfect for couples or families and bedrooms can sleep up to a family of 5, provided one of the children is under 3 (and sleeps in a cot.) Unfortunately this hotel does not cater for large families, and if you do have children older than the age of 3, you’d be required to have adjoining rooms. This will of course push up the price.
The hotel’s standard rooms are similar to those in other hotels, given the layout. Upon entry, you have a bathroom area which consists of a sink and cupboard, wardrobe and shelves. There is also a fairly good size safe. This then leads to a toilet, bath and shower, behind a closed door. Shower gel was provided in one large pump, as well as smaller bottles of shampoo and conditioner.
Our standard bedroom at Sequoia Lodge had two double beds, a small table with two chairs, TV, cabinet with three large and deep drawers. Tea and coffee facilities are not included in standard rooms, however you can request a kettle. Your magic card with also give you free hot drinks dispersed from the machines located around the hotel (I believe it is 2 -4 free drinks per person per day) but please check on arrival.
The hotel rooms were gently themed to Bambi. I did feel that the rooms seemed a little tired, and needed a refresh. However I am aware that the hotel will be undergoing a refurbishment in the coming months. They were spacious enough for us, and the fact that you are mostly in the parks means you don’t spend much time in there. There was plenty of room for a cot too. The wardrobe area was spacious as were the three deep drawers.
Overall, we really enjoyed staying at Sequoia Lodge and it is one of my favourite themed Disneyland Paris Hotels. I love the cosy vibe it offers and the bar is one of my favourite Disney bars across Disney property. The fact that we are a family of 5 with all children now over the age of 3 means that we may not get a chance to stay here again due to the room situation and the cost. However, that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t recommend the hotel and hopefully stay here again in the future if there is a good deal! The location is also perfect, with lovely views out to the lake and only a short walk to Disney Village (around 5 minutes) and a further 5 minutes to the entrance to the Disney Parks.
So, from our family to yours, we hope you enjoy any future stays you have at Seqouia Lodge Hotel in Disneyland Paris! And don’t forget to check out our Disney instagram account!
