Elf on a Shelf Ideas with Elvis the Elf!

Following on from my first Elf on a self idea post I created 2 years ago, I’ve decided to dedicate a new post to Elvis – our new Elf.  He has come along to our house along with Snowy, Sugar and Socks to share some more fun and exciting elf on a shelf ideas for the festive season.  Now, our elves can be naughty, but within my list there are some well behaved elf on a shelf ideas too, just to mix it up a bit!  With some help from Design bundles, who offer various templates and svg cuts, I share with you some quick and easy elf on a shelf ideas to see you through the last 12 days of Christmas.  Lets face it, we all have a love hate relationship with elf on a shelf.  The thought of it is fantastic, magical and to see the kids faces light up is worth it.  BUT…many a night I’ve woken in a panic, having forget to ‘set up’ the elf or have literally run out of ideas.

So, without further ado, here is my list of fun and festive elf on a shelf ideas that your kids with love! Oh, and if you saw my North Pole Breakfast post, you would have seen that Elvis arrived on that morning, in self isolation much to the kids delight!  A great way to begin or finish off your Elf on a shelf ideas.

12 Days of Christmas with Elf on a Shelf

Day 1 – Let’s Bake!

This was a great way to begin after Elvis came out of self isolation.  He decided to bring along with him a gift for us as a way of brightening up his first day at our home in the form of a baking kit.  You can of course use any baking kit or make up your own for this.  Using some elf footprint stencils with a sprinkling of flour, this was a lovely scene to wake up to in the morning.

Day 2 – Dress Up

This year has been like no other and the elves wouldn’t be complete without their own masks, right?!  Elvis had his very own festive elf mask to wear, whilst leaving some festive fabric, PVA glue and some string for the kids to make their own for their other Elves.  How kind!

Day 3 – Colouring

Our kids love colouring.  We decided to set this scene up with a band new box of felt tips and some of the colouring sheet being coloured in by Elvis!  Such an easy elf on a shelf idea and one that the kids will love doing.  It’s also a great one to set up on a weekend as then the kids have time to colour in straight away rather than rush before school.

Day 4- Christmas Cards

Elvis left a tiny elf card for the children to open on this morning addressed to them.  Along with this, he decided to also leave them some card and decorations to make their own card for Elvis for when he returns back to the North Pole.  Super simple!

Day 5- Decorating!

This was a real treat to come down to on this morning!  Elvis has left a bauble decorating kit as well as leaving a brand new tree decoration!  Along with a glass bauble, fake snow and some stickers, there was even a tiny dog figure to add inside the bauble!

Day 6- A scavengers hunt!

My younger two are obsessed with scavenger hunts at the moment.  So it was a real delight to find our elves waiting by the front door inside the kids shoes and wellies.  We sprinkled some festive confetti and lay out the scavenger hunt to tackle during the day.  Another activity perfect for the weekend.

Day 7 – Letters to Santa

What kid doesn’t love writing their letter to Santa!  Along with a cute festive pen, this is a really super simple idea for elf on a shelf.  And even if the kids have already written their Christmas list, how about writing a kind note instead?

Day 8 – Window Display

How about decorating your windows in a festive scene?  It’s not only something nice to look at but also lovely for passer by’s to look at too!  Window stickers are also so popular at the moment too!

Day 9 – Gifting

The kids loved coming down to their very own boxed gift from Elvis, tied up with a bow!  Inside you could leave some chocolate eggs or coins whilst sharing with your kids the gift of giving.  He even leaves some paper if the kids wish to make someone a Christmas letter, poem or a Christmas card!

Day 10 – An act of kindness!

Elvis loves being kind!  And this is why he has left the children an act of kindness sheet.  Perfect for the kids to pluck ideas from on ways to be kind this Christmas!  He was also a little bit naughty and decided to make snow angels in the flour! Naughty naughty!

Day 11 – The Christmas Table

With less than 2 weeks to go, Elvis is getting the table ready for us all for Christmas Day!  He even has a milk bottle for Santa, plus some card and a pen for the kids to make their own name tags for the table!

Day 12 – Wrapping!

The final day off our elf on a shelf idea list is finding Elvis watching TV, with a mini container of popcorn and in the middle of his wrapping up.  He leaves the kids a Christmas tag, some wrapping paper and a roll of wash tape to use to wrap up their presents they may have brought for a friend!
