Finding local childcare with Childcare.co.uk

What’s one of the biggest challenges of being a parent?  I would put finding the best childcare provider for  my children quite high up there.  Whether that be the best nursery or school, it can be hard to find the perfect place for your child.   For some, it may be finding someone you trust to care for your children whilst they are at home.  Or if family support isn’t around, then you may need childcare support for the odd date night!

For us as a family, we are lucky enough to have many family members who can help with childcare.  As I work two days a week, the care for Baby K is with grandparents support.  However, he has attended a preschool setting for a short time per week for the last couple of months to help with his social and development skills.  Over the past 9 years since Mr B arrived into our lives, there has also been times where I’ve been cut short with childcare arrangements and I have had to search for alternative childcare.

As well as this, all three of my children have had the enjoyment of attending a nursery setting.  And it is no easy feat searching for that perfect place.  A place that I have regularly visited over the years is childcare.co.uk.

Childcare.co.uk

Childcare.co.uk is the place to go to search everything childcare – all under one roof!  Childcare.co.uk is the UK’s largest online community of parents, household helpers, au pairs, private tutors, childcare providers and schools.

From the moment you enter the website, you can see that this is the place to come when it claims that it is the easiest way to find local childcare.  To put it clearly, it is an award winning social networking platform with over 2 million members – wow!  So to begin, pick you search – are you looking for childcare search or a childcare job search?

How to search

It is really simple.  Using the homepage search tab, enter what you are searching childcare.co.uk’s website for from the drop down menu.  Then enter your postcode or area of search.  It’s that simple.  Within seconds I have a list of potential childcare providers on my screen within my chosen area.  Currently I am searching for a local preschool for Baby K since his current provider has closed.   After clicking search, I am shown various nurseries for me to pursue.  Each tab for each search result shows me several things:

– Idea on price

– Distance from my entered postcode

– When they last logged onto the childcare.co.uk portal

– How quickly they respond

– Reviews

You can also open their profile and read more about that particular childcare setting you are interested in, and well as Like and Message.

You can also filter your search results.  For example, input a suggested mileage from you chosen postcode, or filter the nursery search by only viewing creches.

As with most parents, we want to ensure that any childcare provider we search for has good testimonials on their safer care.  This is why having the option to review their ratings is a fantastic addition to the site and one which many parents will benefit from.  When searching through reviews and testimonials, on some, there is an option to message that parent who has left that review.  This is also a great way to seek advice about that particular childcare provider and again, offer further reassurance.

For the purpose of this post, I decided to carry out a different search for a different type of childcare provider.  One that stood out was that you could search for a Maternity Nurse.  When narrowing and filtering your search, it was detailed enough to show you what particular qualification you were after within you search  – genius!  This is perfect for those who are in particular need for a childcare provider with certain qualifications, checks and references and certainly would put any parents mind at ease.

What do I think of childcare.co.uk

I feel that the site offers such a fantastic service for any carer for parent out there who is searching a huge range of childcare providers.   It’s a great place where everything is under one roof and you can really carry out an extensive search specific to you and your child/ren’s needs.  It’s an easy site to navigate, is simple and provides the necessary reassurance parents and carers require.

For me personally, it has put me in touch with a preschool for Baby K who I had yet to come across, so this has 100% been a great tool for us!  I would highly recommend childcare.co.uk and I wouldn’t hesitate to use this site continually for any childcare needs I may have in the future.

Thanks for reading xxx
