Helping your Child Develop Their Imagination

Never underestimate the power of a child’s imagination, and their intuition to feel connected to the many things they get to interact with in their daily lives. It’s a big part of a child’s development and helps them grow in their own unique and inviting way. Parents can greatly help a child’s imagination with a range of activities that this private secondary school in London recommends.

Read regularly with your child

A child that can develop an affinity with reading each day will have the means to develop upon their creativity and get them to think more independently. Many stories, even if they’re based on real life, get children thinking about the world, common struggles, and follow their own dreams and interests.

Arts and crafts

Having set time for your child to go wild with paints, colouring pencils and other art forms will let their minds unwind easily. Allow them to draw and create whatever makes them feel happy, like landscapes, animals or their own unique creations. If it’s something your child gets involved in on a regular basis, they’re more likely to explore their inquisitiveness.

Involve many forms of play with your child

Creativity comes from the skills your child has been able to develop, with a range of games and activities your child can enjoy. Play games that focus on different skills your child can use, like guessing sound games, I Spy, and figuring out what birds you can see in the car. Make up songs and rhymes based on items around you at home, or use TV shows that encourage children to sing and play games virtually.

Explore the great outdoors

The best way for your child to experience the world is through all those regular walks, day trips out and trips to the park. Even the smallest excursion can make an impact on a child’s awareness of the world and what interests them.

Hi and welcome to The Willow Tree. I’m Michelle, also known as Shel and I am a mama to three beautiful crazy kids – I have two handsome boys and a wild and wonderful girl.

I really wanted a concrete place to share my love for travel, in particular Disney and offer my readers a chance to gain some knowledge around what we love to do as a family of 5.

I share our family adventures which include days out, travel advice and tips, holiday reviews, restaurant visits and of course, our love for Disney, including Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World.

Life is about creating memories, and here we are sharing them with you
