Jewellery Making Kit with CraftBox

Disclaimer: We were kindly gifted four Craftbox Jewellery making kits for the purpose of this review.  All words and opinions are my own.

As Miss W gets older, she is becoming more and more creative, which I just love.  I have really noticed her going off and making something out of scratch, whether it be a birthday card, or a model out of play-doh.  She really is quite proud of her creations.  With this in mind, when we was asked to review several Craftbox jewellery making kits from Interplay, I knew this would be right up Miss W’s street.

Interplay offer four jewellery making kits:

  1. Unicorn
  2. Mermaid
  3. Fairy
  4. Snowfairy

The packaging is really bright and looks intriguing, and immediately I saw her eyes light up when she saw the unicorn box!  We decided to unbox that particular jewellery making kit for the purpose of this review, and for us to really get creative and make some special bracelets!

See my review of Baker Ross Goodies here!

In our unicorn jewellery making kit, we were provided with several different types of beads (hearts, pearlescent, stars etc) as well as 10 mental charms.  Also included is key rings if we wished to attach the charms onto your keys or just their school bag.  Finally, there is 5m of stretch cord.  There really was plenty available to create many bracelets and it was also helpful to have a manual within our jewellery making kit to refer to if we wished.  The safety clasps were also provided, making it easy to attach each end of the bracelet or necklace.

Beads beads galore!

Making our jewellery was lots of fun and I have to say, pretty easy too.  Many things I have purchased over the years have been tricky or too advanced for the recommended age.  But this is a perfect craft activity to complete with children aged 4 and above.  Miss W did need help from time to time but she is quite determined and is also VERY independent (don’t we just know it!)  So she does really prefer independent activities to complete.

To start, we simply decided what we wanted to make and then cut down the stretch cord to the correct size by measuring Miss W’s wrist and then adding a 1cm for flexibility.  The stretch cord is quite stretchy thought.  We then threaded each charm and chosen beads onto the stretch cord until it was full.  We did leave enough each end use a clasp to finish off the bracelet. And Voila!

This Craftbox jewellery making kit from Interplay really has everything you need to make such sweet and colourful jewellery or keyring charms.  The charms are of really good quality too – I loved the rainbows and horseshoe charms and Miss W loved the unicorns of course (what little girl doesn’t!?)

We were both really happy and impressed with the quality of this jewellery making kit, and at the price of £9.99, it really is fantastic value! You can find it over on Amazon. Which Craftbox would your child prefer?!
