My Favourite summer dresses

With the sun out and the heat firing up, I thought I would share a post on my favourite summer dresses that I have in my wardrobe.  Some are new and ready for this summer, and some are stable dresses I wear each year (if the weather lets me!)

So without further ado, let’s check out my favourite summer dresses!

Another Reason Smock Mini Dress in Spot Purple  ~ ASOS

This purple smock dress is from ASOS by the brand Another Reason.  This newly purchased dress is one I spotted on Sophie and Dave’s Disney vlogs (thanks Sophie!)  I love pastel colours for the summer, and I realised that I don’t actually own anything purple!  It’s a cute design with a V neck and frill sleeves, as well as being super lightweight!  The material could be hit and miss for some, as I thought it would be cotton.  But when it arrived, I realised that it wasn’t and is in actual fact polyester.  I am not sure how well I will cope in the Floridan heat later on this summer wearing this!  But I love it!

Black flower print dress ~ Primark

I got this from Primark last summer season, and fell in love with the button down design.  It’s slightly off the shoulder so gives off an elegant feel to the dress, yet the floral pattern ensures it still remains a day time summer dress.  Primark is great for summer dresses and you can purchase pieces that will stand the test of time for your wardrobe.

Navy Amazon Tie Dress

I was a bit wary buying from Amazon.  But I took the risk and decided on this Navy tie dress.

The material is soft, with a button down detail again down the front of the dress.  It is also lined, which for the price I think is fantastic!  The tie detail at the front of the dress is a lovely touch.  However, it does take the right bra and positioning to ensure it fits well.  You could of course go braless, however I do feel more comfortable wearing a bra.  A little trick I learnt was to tie it through the front section of my bra (between the cups) and it then sits better.  It also comes in an array of colours!

Adidas T-Shirt Dress

I wore this to travel in for our Ibiza holiday last summer.  I think comfort has to come first when it comes to traveling, and I hate for anything to dig in!  As it was a short haul flight, I didn’t mind that my legs were out as I knew I wouldn’t get too cold (although planes can be freezing right!?)  Again, another classic T-shirt dress by Adidas that will stay in your wardrobe for years.  The coral pink colour with the white stripes is lovely, and despite the high neck, it’s a really comfortable dress.

Pink striped tassel dress – Ibiza

I found this dress in a little shop opposite our hotel in Ibiza.  I just adore the pastel pink stripes and the tassel tie.  Of course, this particular dress would be hard to track down, so I found a similar dress from Shein that is also pink striped.

Red Polka dot dress ~ Boohoo

This red polka dot dress from Boohoo is a cute wrap around dress which I brought last summer.  Despite it looking like a wrap dress, it isn’t.  It simply looks that way with the tie detail at the front.  It is offered in three colours, but I opted for the red which I now know was a good choice as I can wear it in Disney and Disney Bound as Minnie Mouse!  I love the floaty short sleeves on this dress too!

Striped pastel dress ~ Newlook

My final piece out of my favourite summer dresses is this recently purchased dress from Newlook.  I actually struggle buying from Newlook now as I find a lot of their clothes slightly dull!  (Sorry Newlook!)  However, I saw this dress in store and thought it was a lovely light weight summer dress.  I think this is perfect for the UK and if your off on your holidays too, and I really like the tiered hem.  I actually think the photo on the Newlook webpage doesn’t do it justice!

And there you have it, some of my favourite summer dresses that I have in my wardrobe.  I feel all of these pieces are timeless classics that would never go out of fashion.  And if they remain in good quality, then they can remain in my wardrobe – Goodbye to FAST FASHION!

Thanks for reading xxx
