When Quiz Clothing got in touch to ask whether I wanted to take part in their new challenge, I couldn’t resist. The challenge was to ask my husband to choose an outfit (without my help) especially for this year’s Valentine’s celebrations. Thankfully, Matt and I have been together for 16 years, which means one thing… He knows exactly what I love to wear! He has brought me many an outfit for my birthday or Christmas over the years, and 99% of the time, he has been spot on. So, although I do like to choose my own outfits when it comes to shopping, I had trust in that he would pick me something that I would like.
Matt spent some time chosing several items, however with some items that were not in stock or low in stock, it did add some additional restrictions for him. However, after overcoming these hurdles, he finally chose an outfit for me – Now, I was worried he wouldn’t pick something comfortable. Now that I am a Mama to three kids and running around after a nearly 2 year old, I need comfort. I didn’t want anything that was too clingy or difficult to wear – us girls need comfort right!
Thankfully, he chose well! Whilst Quiz Clothing offer an array of party dresses, surprisingly Matt didn’t go for a ‘going out out’ outfit (due to us not going out as much anymore!) Instead, he chose something that was fun, stylish and what I call something you can wear dressed up or dressed down.
He chose this black and white checked pinafore dress, which I absolutely love and felt it was really ‘me’. I think the V neckline is really flattering and the perfect length with tights for the winter, and I can imagine would love great with trainers too in the summer. The dress also had the addition of a blue check throughout which was a lovely touch to the print.

What’s great about the Quiz Clothing website is that it offers other items of clothing that compliments an outfit – a ‘complete the look’ section. It’s a shame not more online stores offer this, as its so helpful! Therefore Matt had an easy option in choosing a white rib turtleneck long-sleeved top to compliment the pinafore. What Matt didn’t know about this top is that its cropped – which is fine to wear under the pinafore but I properly won’t wear this without!
Although the pinafore does offer a side belt, Matt did chose a belt which is actually bang on trend. With a circle buckle, I love it against the pinafore and completes the look, and pulls me in at the waist! I am not usually one for belts, but I love this and it’s of course really versatile and means I can wear with many other outfits – bonus!

Last but not least, Matt chose this very comfortable puffer jacket which has been perfect for our recent trip to Center Parcs. It comes with a removable belt, fur-trimmed hood and the most softest lining I have ever felt! I love the length too, as being only 5ft 3, the coat comes just above my knees, so I have extra warmth!

So I say, well done to Matt! And another well done for getting all the sizes right too, which even I find difficult for myself with so many stores offing different size guides. Would you let your partner style you and if so, do you think they would get it right?!
