Our top 5 garden make over ideas

With the weather being utterly beautiful these past few months, we have been so lucky to spend so much time outdoors.  This has of course, encouraged us to spend more time tending to our garden and recognising what and where we need to work on and have drawn up a list of our top 5 garden make over ideas!  Now, all our ideas are not based on budget, but what we love and want for the future.  And I’m so excited to share with you what ideas we have in mind for our garden.

We have a pretty big garden, so this will take some time over the years to create.  We also have three children under the aged of 10, meaning that garden toys also take over some of our plans!  With that being said, here are our top 5 garden make over ideas!

Artificial Grass

Wow, having artificial grass would make our lives so much easier!  For one, no more mowing the lawn and tending to unpleasant and unwanted weeds!  Although expensive, there is a reason why.  And some things are worth it purely for ease, quality and durability – which artificial grass ticks all the boxes for!  It’s perfect for families and for whoever who would like a low maintenance garden.  Despite fitting artificial grass, you still need to be mindful of pests within your garden.  The website  https://www.pestcontrolexperts.com/exterminator/florida/ can happily assist with this need as and when required!

Decking

We have a large area of decking in our garden which is home to our huge corner rattan sofa – which we love!  The decking is in need of some TLC and we would love to extend it, offering a home for some sun loungers or even a hot tub in the future.  We originally painted the decking a soft dove grey, which now has worn away and is looking tired.  For now, we need to tidy this up and hopefully extend the decking a little, making our entertainment area a little larger. Its worth a note to contact Fort Worth arborists for garden care services.

Flowers

I’ll admit it – we are no gardeners!  So it comes as a nice surprise that we have both got green fingers during the last few weeks and have managed to work on our garden boarders and have planted a few climbing flowers.  This is just the start!  We really want to home more flowers in the garden, but with an avid 10 year old footballer, we knew that flowers may be de-headed!  However, we are loving adding to our boarders and definitely want to continue to add a splash of colour to our garden!  In in doubt, find a gardening expert!

Furniture

Whilst we have a lovely corner rattan sofa, I’d also love some sun loungers and even a 5 seater table and chairs, which would be perfect for eating BBQ’s on in the shade.  And I’ve even considered getting a hammock for those lazy Sundays! Our patio section is, at the moment taken over by a play house and lots of outdoor ride ons!  So in the future, we’d love to extend our seating area to include these.  Oh, and a swinging chair is also on our list!

Playhouse and Play area

The children are lucky enough to have a wonderful little play house and a large play frame.  However, some areas are looking tired and my idea to improve the playhouse is to add a lick of paint, new perspex windows and some lovely curtains to finish off the look.  The younger two use it all the time, so hopefully by next year we’ll have achieved this and extended the use of the play house a little longer!

For now, we will enjoy our time in the garden, and any chores and ‘to-do’s’ will be done over a period of time.
