Solihull Summer Fest! Family Festival Review

For the past three years, Summer Fest has arrived in Solihull with a bang!  I hadn’t been able to attend in previous years, but this year was different and I was super excited!  Having been a festival virgin for as long as I can remember, I was thrilled to see that a festival was literally landing on my doorstep.  I have always been a little…

Back to school checklist and tips

This summer has flown by!  I cannot believe that it is now only 1 week until both B and W go back to school.  This year is pretty exciting (and emotional!) and W is starting reception!  Whilst I appreciate that this post should have gone live about a month ago (I am never prepared!), I still think that it is useful. This list is more…

Blossom Keepsakes: Capturing your child’s moments

I love supporting local business’s.  And so when Sarah, the founder behind Blossom Keepsakes approached me at a local baby and toddler group, I was super excited to work with her!  If you know me well, you will know that I love sentimental items.  Photo’s, prints, baby keepsakes – it all works for me!  I cherish all the memories I’ve had created over the years…

Whilst our experience of Buffalo Bill’s was two years ago, I really wanted to share our experience of it here over on The Willow Tree.  I love writing about what I am passionate about, and I am certainly passionate about Disney!  But recently, I have heard a few Disney rumours that, whilst it is great news that Disney Village is soon to get revamp,…

Review: Octopus Learning subscription box

Last month, we were very kindly sent an Octopus Learning subscription box to trial out!  This could not have come at a better time!  The 6 weeks holidays loomed ahead (eeeek!) and whilst we have been on holiday, I am always wracking my brain to think of activities to do at home.  It can be tricky to think of ideas, especially that are cheap, fun…

When I was a child, I always remember enjoying my Gran’s Cherry pie.  It was deliciously sweet and sharp, sugary and with a crumbly buttery pastry.  Now, I sometimes grab one from the local bakery for a treat.  I am no mean baker, so I have never attempted to bake a cherry pie.  But Britmums have set the challenge of how we as a family…

Hi and welcome to The Willow Tree. I’m Michelle, also known as Shel and I am a mama to three beautiful crazy kids – I have two handsome boys and a wild and wonderful girl.

I really wanted a concrete place to share my thoughts, ideas and my ups and downs on family life, sharing our family adventures and love for fashion. I’d love for it to be a community of support and advice for others too.

I chat everything from Disney, parenting hacks to the latest haul from Primark! I love going on family breaks and holidays and love to document these times of creating special memories.
