Decorating before Christmas wasn’t ideal but when I get a bee in my bonnet, I cannot let it go! We really needed to refresh our bedroom after having it decorated 6 years ago. Our feature wall of black and silver needed to go, and instead, we wanted to bring some light into our room with paler colours and softer tones.
I am delighted to work with Photowall on this article and share with my readers an offer code of 20% off and free shipping which will last for 1 month from posting!
Photowall is an online wallpaper and print store offering custom made prints and wallpapers as well as a host of different wallpapers, wall murals and prints. Photowall is a Swedish based company, but do not let that put you off UK readers, our wall mural arrived in 2 days!
The website is easy to navigate and offers some amazing designs from simple prints to wild and wacky wallpaper – there really is so much choice! So, what did we go for?
As I said previously, I really wanted to make our room lighter, and I still wanted to keep a feature wall behind our bedframe, so we knew we wanted to opt in for a wall mural. We already has some pale pinks in the room so we decided to go for a liquid marble effect wall mural in pale pinks and creams.
Ordering is again, like the website, super simple. Simply measure the wall where you’ll be fitting the wallpaper or wall mural. I recommend measuring three times then give yourself 6-10 cm extra for margin of error as suggested by Photowall.
You’ll then have the option to crop the wall mural or wall paper which I think is a great addition as there may be some part of the wall mural that you wish to not include. After this, you can choose the paper quality. You can either stick with the standard paper which includes the glue being applied to the wall, doesn’t fade in the sunlight, is fire rated and environmentally friendly. To upgrade to premium, this includes an extra layer of paper to give it a matte finish. It is also extra resistant to scrapes and does not reflect sunlight. Premier is around an extra couple of pound per square metre so we decided to opt for this.
Finally there is an option to include a wallpaper kit which is what we did. For an extra £19 the kit includes a brush for applying the glue, a seam roller, paperhanging brush, a knife and cutting guide plus a spirit level a pencil and a tape measure. Super handy if you are attempting to do the decorating yourself!
The deliver of the wall mural from Photowall took 2 days to arrive and was packaged securely. We decided to get our painter and decorator to refresh our bedroom as we just didn’t have the time to do it ourselves before Christmas and we really wanted to get it done asap!
We absolutely love the wall mural. It immediatly makes the room looker fresher and brighter and I cannot wait to dress up the rest of the room (which we are going to have to do after Christmas now!) The paper feels such fantastic quality and our decorator said it was super easy to work with!
It can be a worry when ordering online and not being able to see true colours or feel the quality of the item your purchasing. But I needn’t have worried – the wall mural looked exactly as it did online and I was so happy with the end result!
