Slimline Wine – Pure Class in a Glass

As a mama to three little bears, my days can be busy and hectic. I have to admit that I do enjoy a glass or two of wine at home from time to time. Often and especially on the weekends, hubby and I will cook a lovely meal and open a bottle of prosecco or wine to share. As we are parents, we do not have the luxury of going out on dates that often, so we often chose to date at home. My husband will cook and we will share a lovely bottle of wine and watch a film.
So when Slimline wine offered me the chance to try some of their wines I jumped at the chance!

The Concept of Slimline Wine

Slimline wine is a brand that offers all the taste of a good wine but doesn’t have any nasties in it.  I must admit, I can forget that drinking wine can also bring with it a lot of sugar, carbs and calories.  It can also contain toxins (which is the stuff that gives us a bad headache the following morning!)  Regular wine is notoriously calorific, containing up to 700 per bottle (read and weep…into our wine glass).  However, Slimline wine sets to change all that and offer good tasting wine without all the guilt!  It contains 0% sugar, 0% carbs and is free of any nasty toxins – hallelujah!

SlimLine Wine is made from their own very special World Heritage Site Vineyards in Piedmont and is made by their extremely talented wine maker Dan Cusmano.  Whats even more special is that their Vines were planted by them, they are cared for by them, and are always picked by their own hands – its pretty personal! Every bottle of SLIM can be traced back literally to its roots.

Delivery and packaging

I do enjoy drinking prosecco, so Slimline wine decided to send me out a bottle of their white wine and a sparking wine to sample.  As soon as we confirmed what wine I wanted, the delivery was super quick and arrived the following day.  Each bottle was individually wrapped in brown paper and inside was confetti – such a lovely touch.  The bottles had also been protected by the use of a bubble wrapped parcel and all was intact with no breakages!

My verdict

White Wine

We decided to open the white wine first on a Friday night to go with our dinner.  The bottle was dark green with the slimline wine logo on it.  Now one of my favourite white wines is Sauvignon Blanc and the Slimline white wine is actually made from Sauvignon Blanc.  The flavour is lovely and light and doesn’t have a bitter taste as do some wines.  Its dry with hints of lemon and has a delicate finish.  I found the wine to be very tasty and went perfectly well with our seafood pasta we had for dinner. Considering this wine is free from so many nasties, I’d say I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the bottle and we both thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sparking Wine

A week later, we tried the sparking white wine. I have to say this was both mine and my husbands favourite! The bottle was an unusual shape where it was a lot wider at the bottle and was also a cork top.  It was easy to open and when poured, had lots of fizz which is what I love to see!Sparking wine bottle of slimline wine from a birds eye view

I am enjoying a glass of the sparking wine

This sparking wine is made from Champagne grapes; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.  This sparking wine offers all the taste of a regular sparking wine. It did not give me any reason to question that it was a low-calorie wine.  It certainly packed a punch, full of a light and refreshing flavour that hit the spot!  I would certainly purchase the sparking wine and would love my friends and family to sample some.  And whats even more of a bonus…no sore head the next day!

Wine & Chocolate is my weakness. Maybe I need to try some Slimline ~ it looks and sounds lovely xx

  7. These sound really interesting and I would love to try the Sparkling one, I must admit that the slinky women (the Slimline logo?) puts me off because I don’t really want to be reminded of my weight while having a drink, but I’m sure I could just keep the bottle in the fridge apart from when pouring a glass.

  8. This is fabulous for when girls get together. It’s nice to indulge without too much guilt! x

  9. I don’t drink so this doesn’t apply to me but I’ll definitly be sending this post to a few people who I know will be interested, it looks fab! X

I’m with you on having dates at home as it’s so hard to go out (out) on an actual date when you have kids. Thanks for linking up at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x
