Summer, we dream of it all year! After all, it’s the chance to get a little sun and spend some quality time with the kids when school doesn’t get in the way. Yet, by the end of the 6 weeks, patients can feel exhausted and tempers frayed. The good news is that there are ways to keep your little ones entertained throughout the summer, and so lessen the strain on you! Read on to find out what they are.
Picnics are a great way of keeping the kids entertained this summer, they will also save you money as buying food when you are visiting an attraction can get expensive quickly. Of course, it’s not just about the picnic itself, but the preparation that can provide some interesting activities for your kids to do.
Getting them involved in the sandwich making, and making can fill up a good morning or afternoon with activities! You can even extend things by getting them to design the menu, work out the cost (best for older kids), and find the recipes online that you will use!
One of the best ways to keep boredom at bay in the summer is by sending your child to a kids club when they put on activities for them. Indeed, by choosing a club that specializes in summer activities you can be safe in the knowledge that your child will be kept engaged and active, and that you won’t have to come up with something for them to do every five minutes.
Of course, there is a wide range of clubs to choose from, including those that offer gymnastics, arts and crafts, and even STEM!
Camping can be a very stimulating activity for your child to engage in during the summer. However, if you don’t have the time or resources to take them away to a campsite, remember that they can still have a great deal of fun camping in the back garden.
Indeed, back garden camping offers opportunities to cook outside, pitch a tent, and watch the stars at night amongst a myriad of other things. Although, do always have safety in mind, and ensure that children are supervised by an adult when cooking or sleeping out of doors.
Last of all, to keep the little ones entertained during the summer a regular weekly library trip is in order. Indeed, not only is it a great trip out that can fill an afternoon or morning, but you will find a range of services there too.
Of course, the most well-known of these is being able to borrow great physical books with no charge, so your kids can pick out plenty of novels, nonfiction, and even picture books to keep them busy in quiet moments or on longer trips.
Physical Books are not the only tuning you can gain access to in the library. However, they also stock DVDs and Blu-rays and provide access to e-books, and even audiobooks. Some libraries offer activities and programs as well throughout the summer months so be sure to keep an eye on their notice board!
