Things I miss whilst on holiday

Who doesn’t love going on holiday!!  But, with that being said, there is things we can miss whilst on holiday – I know I do!  This got me thinking and reflecting back on times we have been away and what I have most enjoyed coming back to.

So without further ado, let’s see if you agree!

My own bed

Ahhh, my own bed!  There is no bed quite like it is there?!  More often than not, a hotel bed can be a little…different.  Thats not to say I haven’t been comfortable whilst on holiday.  But as soon as I am home, I love sinking into my own bed with my own covers and pillow.  Haven’t said that. I do take my own pillow on holiday wherever I go!  I have never let go of my pregnancy pillow which I just love and still use every night.

Good broadband connection

Despite any location promising a great wifi connection, it is never quite the same as being back at home is it?  Yes I know we should all be having some down time when it comes to our electronic devices, but having a fast broadband connection is essential when working (which I still do on holiday!) and entertainment for us and the kids.  So with that in mind, it is reassuring to know that upon our return we have a connection that is not only reliable but is the best rate for us too.  It’s always a good idea to check the best rate for your personal usage.  With having three children means we always chose something that works for every member of the family.

English breakfast brew

Pass me a Twinnings! English tea oh how will miss you when we travel abroad!  No tea is quite like how it is made in England.  And this is something that is 100% missed by myself when we go on holiday abroad.  No other tea compares I am afraid.  (So sneak them teabags into your suitcase – your going to need them!)  I also need to add into here that a good cream tea is sorely missed!

Electricity

When you know you know right?!  If you hair is anything like mine, it needs serious heat to tame that frizz! When holidaying abroad, I think we can all vouch for the fact that their electricity strength just isn’t like that in the UK.  So within minutes my hair can be frizzy!  I hear the US doesn’t quite match up to the UK’s electricity strength, so I am prepared to have serious frizz during our Walt Disney World holiday!

Knowing what day of the week it is

Admit it…do we all actually know what say of the week it is when we are on holiday?!   I think we are all too busy soaking up that sun (or running after the kids!), enjoying a cocktail and strolling them sandy beaches.  It’s kind of like living in bit of a bubble not knowing what the date is or day of the week.  And whilst its lovely whilst it lasts, it is also refreshing to get back into a routine once returning home.

English TV

A guilty pleasure perhaps?!  For some, trying out the TV to see what channels are connected is the first and foremost important thing to do.  I can give or take TV whilst on holiday.  But it is enjoyable to get back home and tune into your favourite series you’ve missed out on for the last 14 days.

British breeze

There is nothing quite like a British summer breeze.  Holidaying abroad you really miss out on that cooling breeze that the UK has to offer, even when on the coast.

So there you have it!  My top 7 items that I miss most whilst on holiday.  I am sure that is plenty to add.  Let me know what you miss the most when on holiday below!
