Tips for the anxious traveller

*This is a collaborative post*

As the old saying goes, travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer. Spending money on travel is a fantastic way to enrich your life with experiences you wouldn’t get anywhere else and make memories that last a lifetime. Yet one thing that puts a lot of people off of travelling is the idea of it. There are so many elements to going away that it’s easy to get anxious and feel nervous about everything that it entails. In this article we take a look at some top tips for the anxious traveller that should help make it that bit easier. Keep on reading to find out more.

Be as organised as you can

One way to make yourself less anxious when travelling is to be as organised as possible. Have things set up such as a schedule and itinerary so you know what you are doing and when you need to be in certain places. This can help you feel as though you have some element of control over what is happening and can make you feel less anxious about what’s happening. Have all your important documents together in one place and ensure you leave more than enough time to get from place to place. These simple steps can play a big part in making you feel less anxious.

Seek alternative remedies

If you are someone that feels anxious when travelling, there are a few alternative remedies you can try. One of the most popular is CBD and there are a variety of products on the market for you to give a go. You can also look into things such as meditation, mindfulness and other options that will help take your mind off of what is going on. This can really help you to feel less anxious when you’re travelling and just keep your mind on the final destination.

Find things to distract yourself

If you’re doing something such as flying, this can make you very anxious. Many people are scared of flying so you’re not alone, but this might not offer any comfort! To avoid these feelings, try and find things to distract you and make yourself feel happier. You could listen to your favourite music, find an app or game that you enjoy, or eat and drink your favourite snacks. These are simple things that will keep your mind busy and not so focused on the fact you’re flying.

These are just a few top tips that should help you as an anxious traveller to feel much better about the situation. Going away in any way, shape or form can be anxiety-inducing, but by being as prepared as you can and seeking ways to keep yourself distracted during things such as flights, it can be a real help.
