Over the last few months, I feel that we all have been trying to find ways in which to relax and take our minds of things. Whilst reading is my go to activity when I want to de-stress, crafting is also high on top of peoples lists when it comes to relaxation. And whilst I spent most of my time getting mucky hands and getting creative with the kids, it is also a great way for us grown ups to get creative too!
LoveCrafts is the place to visit when it comes to sourcing all your creative products for your crafting projects! The online crafting store is literally full of everything you need; from yarn to embroidery kits, an array of fabrics and even free knitting patterns, it’s definitely a great resource to find them items you may need to get inventive! Theres even a wonderful kids section if you fancy opting for some kid friendly craft products – perfect for keeping them busy during the summer weeks!
We are in the mist of beginning to redecorate my daughters room, and so I felt it was important to not only have a go at a new crafting activity, but also get productive and make something home made for her new room. Love Crafts sent out a wonderful bag of pastel coloured yarn; I adore all the colours and are perfect for the vision I had for Missy’s room. We also received two pom pom makers; 1 small and 1 large.
We had a lot of fun getting creative and creating our very own homemade pom pom’s and once you get the knack of using the device, it’s really easy and a lot of fun! Ideal for beginners or knitting expects, using a pom pom maker can transform most products into something beautiful and you can do so much with them. We decided to make a pom pom frame, but now I am also excited to try and make a pom pom pillow to match!
To use a pom pom maker, simply follow the instructions below:
– Begin by opening up the pom pom maker
-Then, start wrapping the yarn around one of the arms until it is all covered.
-Repeat on the other arm until again it is covered with yarn
-Cut the yarn and fold the two arms together
-Using a pair of sharp scissors, cut around the outside edge of the yarn.
-Then cut a piece of yarn long enough to wrap around the middle of the pom pom maker to hold your pom pom in place. Pull tight and wrap around several times and secure with a knot. Make sure you leave enough yarn (or string if you prefer) to hand from your bunting.
-Trim any access yarn then may be poking out!
I am super happy with my finished result of my pom pom frame. I have now placed it pride of place on my daughters bookshelf, and she also loves it too! I can’t wait to start working on the rest of her bedroom!
