What are some Mid-range Cars to Consider for the Family and Pets?

The automotive market is vast and diverse. There’s a vehicle to suit just about every need. If you’ve got a family to accommodate, and you need room for the dog, too, you might consider several excellent mid-range options. Let’s assess a few of the best.

BMW 3 Series

The famous German manufacturer is synonymous with build quality and class. The 3 Series has proven a go-to option. The driving experience is excellent, and the infotainment system we find in modern models is enviable. The list price for a new model tends to be quite steep, and you might not get all of the features you want as standard. The good news is that there are plenty of alternatives to buying new. You can find used BMW 3 series for sale at dealerships up and down the country that offer most of the same experiences as the new options, however with a few less ‘new’ options.

Skoda Octavia

The Octavia is another excellent choice. It has a broad range of strengths, being spacious and powerful. It’s also priced very competitively, whether you’re looking for a petrol or diesel model. There’s plenty of room in the boot, which makes it a great option for those looking to accommodate the largest family pets, and you get slim-line LED headlights in newer models. The only downsides are the size, and the driving experience: it’s not quite as fun to drive as some of the alternatives.

Hyundai Tucson

Now in its fourth generation, the Tucson is a cut-price alternative to the super-premium SUV market. With its distinct, bulbous silhouette, it boasts distinctive aesthetics. Plus, there’s plenty of legroom for passengers in the front and back. You can expect to pay just over £30,000 for a new one, with climate control and Apple CarPlay as standard. There are no diesel engines in this range, but you’ll find plenty of hybrid and electric models, too – making this a great option for those looking to prepare for a new, greener age.

Ford Focus

The Focus has been around for what seems like forever, and has consistently appealed to families. It might not be quite as spacious as some of the other options we’ve covered, but it still offers a compelling drive, and an enviable set of features. If you’re in the market for a small hatchback that can still get the family from one place to another, then the Focus is well worth considering.
