With the Easter Half Term approaching, I thought it would be a great idea to run a fun and educational competition with my readers to be in with a chance of winning a fun AND educational board game of your choice from Oakabooks. We all struggle to entertain the children during breaks from school. There are only so much cash in ones purse to keep taking the children out for the day. This is why I thought having some home entertainment (and sneaking some learning in there too) would be a nice way to start off the Easter Holidays.
Oakabooks offer learning packs, books and extra curricular games that are designed to support children’s learning, in particular if they are dyslexic or SEN. The products are a great way to give parents and carers to opportunity to easily access, even if there are some struggles with reading or comprehension.
Oakabooks offer topic packs for KS1, KS2 KS3, KS4 and up to GCSE level. Depending on what area your child needs extra support with with depend on what topic pack is more suitable for your child. The packs include a booklet, workbook and and active learning game to keep their minds busy! Oakabooks even offer FREE revision tips which is fantastic, especially for the upcoming SATS assessments and GCSE’s.
Today we are offering the chance to win one of Oakabooks fantastic games and there are 11 to choose from! An example of one of the games is KS2 Predators and Producers Game which is perfect for my 7 year old daughter who is in Year 3.
Using active learning, the game involves frantic fun as you make your way around the board, climbing up Producers and sliding down Predators, to try and rescue Rainforest Rob on the other side of the rainforest, winning Cocoa Beans and Bananas as you go along. (Think of it as Snakes and Ladders but far more interesting and fun!) There are Biology questions along the way but beware of the predators lurking in the rainforest!
This game, as are all the others, is a great, fun way to reinforce classroom learning and help with revision in an engaging format yet still have fun too, which is so important for learning. My 7 year old daughter loved the game and we have played it numerous times. She loves that it’s something a little different that the standard snakes and ladders and loves it when she gets a question right! What I love the most is that she is learning during the game but doesn’t even realise it, making it a win win for us!
To be in with a chance of winning 1 game of your choice from Oakabooks, please enter via the Rafflecopter link below. This Competition in live until 23:59 on 31st March and I will announce the winner here! The competition is only open to UK residents.
